Sometimes you come across a place where you think: why didn't I know about this yet? Flinke Markten in Hemelum is one of those spots. A small and tidy little market in a beautiful location, where you still come across genuinely good second-hand finds and where, thanks to the lovely hospitality, you might just end up staying longer than planned.
Flinke Flea Market in Hemelum: you need to know about this atmospheric flea market in Friesland
We have been to quite a few flea markets by now, so we know that a lovely location alone is not enough. But Flinke Flea Market in Hemelum (Friesland) is truly a gem. The car boot sale takes place in the meadow near It Flinkeboskje 2, among the grapevines and cosy terraces, with great coffee from a barista and music playing in the background. On a sunny day, you could almost imagine yourself in France. And then there is the selection: sellers lay out genuinely nice second-hand items, clothing, crockery and furniture from their cars or camper vans, often at great prices. The location, the finds and the pleasant atmosphere: this is the kind of market you leave with a full bag and a good mood!
When is Flinke Flea Market?
Flinke Flea Market is regularly organised during the nicer months (between May and September) at It Flinkeboskje in Hemelum, in the south-west of Friesland. The dates vary per edition, so please check the current schedule at the website.
