Second-hand shops on the Oudegracht: perhaps the most beautiful street in the Netherlands

The uglier the industrial estate, the better the charity shop. That’s usually our motto. But we’re happy to make an exception for the Oudegracht in Utrecht. Here, within walking distance of one another, you’ll find more than ten charity shops, vintage shops and second-hand shops. And all in one of the city’s most beautiful spots! That’s why we’re simply nominating the Oudegracht for the title of ‘most beautiful second-hand street in the Netherlands’. See for yourself!

Favourite second-hand shops on the Oudegracht

The tally is rising fast. De ARM alone already has five outlets on the Oudegracht. Add to that the vintage shops, second-hand shops and antique dealers, and you could easily spend an afternoon hunting for second-hand treasures here. These are our favourites from the video:

  • The ARM – Oudegracht 247, 253, 255, 266 and 274. ARM has five branches on Oudegracht, each with its own speciality: from books and household goods to furniture, antiques, curiosities, clothing and bicycles.
  • Sisters – Oudegracht 224. For lovely second-hand designer clothes, shoes and bags, as well as eye-catching jewellery and accessories.
  • SECONDSAS – Oudegracht aan de Werf 193. A lovely vintage shop in a wharf cellar, selling second-hand designer clothing for both women and men. You’ll also find shoes, bags and jewellery there.
  • Episode – Oudegracht 206. A well-known spot for vintage enthusiasts, with a particularly large selection of clothes from the 1980s and 1990s. You’ll also find shoes, bags and accessories there.
  • The Old Pipe Drawer – Oudegracht 199. The sort of shop where you can have a lovely rummage through antiques, curiosities, LPs, toys, jewellery and much more.
  • De Witte Eenhoorn – Oudegracht 300. A little second-hand treasure trove full of crockery, vases, lamps, paintings and other vintage finds.
  • Cafca – Oudegracht 302. A vintage shop and café in one, selling books, design items and all sorts of trinkets.
  • Christien Jurcka Antiques – Oudegracht 308. This is the place to go for antiques and art, from crockery and furniture to mirrors, paintings and prints.
  • Velvet Hair & Vintage – Oudegracht 325. The odd one out: a hair salon where you can also have a rummage through pre-loved clothes and other vintage finds.
