Are you spending a day or night near Lemmer? Then be sure to put De KuubsKist on your list. During our tour of Southwest Friesland, we asked sustainable locals with a big secondhand heart for their favourite local charity shop. De KuubsKist was mentioned more than once, so off we went. And we didn't regret it: this charity shop is fe-loomenally big and you can easily while away a few hours there.
Thrift shopping across different themed warehouses
The KuubsKist covers more than four thousand square metres, spread over various rooms, floors and themed sheds. You can truly find everything there: from furniture, clothing and crockery to books, records, toys, art and curiosities. Our favourite was the separate retro shed, full of items from the sixties and seventies. Also nice: we found the prices here are still what you would hope for from a charity shop. By the way, the name De KuubsKist comes from the wooden cubic-metre crates that farmers use for storing potatoes. In the shop, they have been reused as display cabinets. You can find De KuubsKist at Lemsterpad 22 in Lemmer. The shop is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00. Just to be sure, check the current opening hours. In the video below, we will already take you inside.
