Enjoying organic food in Utrecht at Gys
From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, the menu is completely organic, as Gys is a certified organic restaurant. As a restaurant, Gys has the EKO Quality mark Horeca Gold 100%. Say What? Yes, there aren't that many of those in the Netherlands. For lunch, we were advised by the kind service and so we opted for two favorites of guests: The Ruffle my Truffle (deep-fried oyster mushrooms on fresh bread with truffle mayo and Parmesan cheese) and the classic Shakshuka with tomato sauce, poached egg, zhug and vegan feta. Big eaters can have their fun here, as the portions are generous. A doggybag Bringing (or asking) is therefore really recommended.

Have lunch at organic, EKO certified, restaurant Gys. A sustainable household name in Utrecht for years. The picture shows the Ruffle my Truffle and Shakshuka, so nice portions!
Restaurant with a living room feel
At Gys, it feels like sitting down at friends' kitchen tables: casual, no fuss and always welcoming. Open all day seven days a week, there is always a good time to drop in. The spacious menu offers something for everyone, whether you fancy a hearty meal or just a good cup of coffee. On the evening menu, we spot dishes like mushroom satay and a celeriac steak. Yum! And for hearty breakfasts and lunches, this is also a good place to go. Still hesitating between sweet or savoury? Doesn't matter, with a vegan Club Sandwich, smoothie bowl or fruit pancake you don't have to choose now either. Just find a nice spot first! Gys is here for young and old. Proof is the extensive kids' menu. And all with a green glow: organic, gluten-free and veg(n). Or did we already mention that?
