Sustainable shopping at a big discount? Of course, we're hungry for that. And so you can at Foodello. The closer the THT date approaches, the higher the discount. You order what you like via the website - these are long-life, typical pantry products - and a few days later your box of groceries is already on your doorstep. Reducing food waste has never been easier. Saskia has been a convert for some time now and orders in bulk a few times a year to replenish the pantry. And that discount? In this case, it amounted to a whopping 40%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We go shopping at Foodello<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Superfine: at Foodello you can do your shopping online at a big discount. How is that possible? The Finnish-Dutch company buys up batches of food and drinks that supermarkets can no longer sell. Usually because the THT date has almost expired - or even already passed. But that often says nothing at all. THT stands for \u2018best before\u2019, which means that you can still eat the product after that date. Sometimes weeks, sometimes months, sometimes even years. What's more: sometimes a date is simply written on the product because it has to be, while the product doesn't really need a best-before date. So you buy mainly long-life products at Foodello. Think bake-off rolls, sauces, coffee and spreads: typical pantry items. And sometimes there is something in between whose THT date is a long way off. Then there is a mistake on the packaging, for instance, or the brand has just been given a new logo. Unsalable, supermarkets think. Ridiculous really, if you think about it for a moment. Four packs of wok noodles with 40% discount, six jars of pasta sauce with a generous 20% discount, six packs of chickpeas with 22% discount, two organic soups by Unox with 44% discount... that's right: with the help of Foodello, we are replenishing our pantry. And sustainable too! In the shop, you will find products with a label and ingredients that fit well in a vegetarian or vegan diet. We filled the basket with groceries that would cost around 166 euros in a \u2018normal\u2019 supermarket, but because we saved them from waste through Foodello, we only lost 100 euros. And with this stock we can go for months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peanut butter for one cent<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The closer the THT date approaches, the more discount you receive at Foodello. And that works surprisingly well. In the supermarket, you might stick your whole arm into the shelf to find just the product with the freshest expiry date. At Foodello it is exactly the other way round: there, you search for products that are past their sell-by date today or yesterday - because then you get extra discount. So we bought six packs of Barilla whole-wheat spaghetti with a THT date still two months in the future. But dried pasta stays good for months, sometimes even years. Even the pureed tomatoes we ordered still have a shelf life of more than a year. Maybe there is a misprint on the packaging - at least we couldn't detect anything crazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have a wide range of tasty and convenient groceries, it is considerably cheaper than the supermarket and you do something good with it too.
