At thegreenlist.nl<\/em> We're crazy about charity shops. From messy jumble sales to sleekly curated vintage boutiques: we love them! But there are also concepts that are somewhere in between, like Summe. And that\u2019s precisely what makes it fun: it feels accessible to everyone. We took a look inside the shop in Leiden and asked ourselves one simple question: can you put together an entire outfit here for less than fifty euros?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Second-hand with a mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The idea behind Summe is simple: second-hand should become as normal as new. While many second-hand boutiques work with clothes that people bring in themselves, they take a different approach. The team actively seeks out second-hand items that would otherwise likely end up at textile recycling. A shame, of course, because much of it is still perfectly good. At Summe, these items therefore get a second life. Perhaps soon with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the shop, you'll find a mix of modern and vintage items. Trousers, blouses, jumpers \u2013 everything is neatly arranged by garment type, just like in a boutique. This makes for clear and pleasant shopping. Something else that's noticeable: there's also a men's collection. You don't see that very often in second-hand shops. So, men can also make a great new wardrobe find here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Summe, you'll find second-hand clothing that would otherwise be destroyed or recycled. A shame, because all these garments are still perfectly wearable!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our tester: an outfit for under fifty euros<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

And then, of course, came the real test. Can you get a complete outfit here for less than fifty euros? The short answer: yes. With a bit of clever combining, you'll get surprisingly far. Trousers (\u20ac24), a blouse (\u20ac12), and sometimes even something extra (\u20ac6 scarf). Second-hand shopping always remains a bit of a treasure hunt. Another nice detail at the checkout: your clothes don't go home in a standard bag. At Summe, you get a fabric bag that has also been salvaged from the waste stream. No two bags are the same, so you always leave with a unique item! COOL!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
