Kitchenware

  • bread knife and board
  • oven with baking tray

Ingredients

  • leftover oliebollen
  • optional sweet topping: icing sugar
  • optional savoury topping: cheese, tapering, cream cheese

Instructions

  • Cut thin slices from your old oliebollen. The thinner, the crunchier.
  • Put them in a sandwich iron (2 minutes) or fry them alternately in a grill pan about 2 minutes each side. If you have an oven: bake at 180°C in about 5 minutes. In the airfryer: heat at 180°C and bake for 3-4 minutes until nice and crispy.
  • Sweet: sprinkle icing sugar over the crackers and serve as a sweet snack.
  • Savoury: use the crackers as toasts on your cheese board, with tapenade or cream cheese. The slightly sweet flavour of the oil bun goes surprisingly well with savoury toppings!
