Oliebollenwafels: here's how to make them

Old oil balls can be turned into waffles surprisingly easily. So you can turn tough oliebollen into a super tasty breakfast or snack in no time. Here's how to do it!

  • bread knife and board
  • sandwich iron (or grill pan, oven or airfryer)

Ingredients
  

  • old oil balls
  • toppings (such as cream butter, fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt & honey)

Instructions
 

  • Make sure your appliance (sandwich iron, grill pan, oven or airfryer) is well hot.
  • Meanwhile, slice/slice the old oliebol.
  • Put them in a sandwich iron (2 minutes) or fry them alternately in a grill pan about 2 minutes each side. If you have an oven: bake at 180°C in about 5 minutes. In the airfryer: heat at 180°C and bake for 3-4 minutes until nice and crispy.
  • These waffles are delicious with a little cream butter and icing sugar, but with a topping of fresh fruit or with Greek yoghurt and honey, you can turn them into a delicious New Year's breakfast.
