Barbecue season is great, but the traditional barbecue with quite a bit of meat, is anything but a sustainable choice. Go for the vegetarian barbecue! There are so many vegetables that you can grill deliciously like these green asparagus. Better for the planet and your body!

Ingredients
  

  • green asparagus
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Parmesan cheese
  • optional toasted pine nuts

Instructions
 

  • Cut the hard bottom of the asparagus.
  • Make a mixture of olive oil and salt and roll the asparagus through it.
  • Place the asparagus on direct heat. Be careful: sometimes they catch fire, but if it happens very briefly, it's delicious. Then you have a flambĂ©ed flavour. Absolutely do not let the asparagus blacken, that is unhealthy and also not tasty.
  • Serve the grilled asparagus on a platter and sprinkle with Parmesan, salt and pepper and toasted pine nuts, if desired. Ta-da! So it's that easy.
