Kitchenware

  • deep plate or bowl
  • whisk or fork
  • frying pan
  • spatula

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 4-6 slices of festive cake
  • 150 ml (vegetable) milk
  • 2 fluorescent cinnamon
  • a cube (cream) butter for frying
  • optional: icing sugar
  • optional: scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • optional: fresh or frozen fruit such as raspberries or blackberries

Instructions

  • Beat the eggs with the milk and cinnamon in a deep dish or bowl.
  • Gently roll the party cake slices through the mixture. Leave them for a while, but no longer than a minute, otherwise they will fall apart.
  • Heat a knob of butter in the frying pan and fry the French toast on medium-high heat. Fry for about 5 minutes per side, until nicely golden brown. Note: sultanas can burn quickly.
  • Serve the French toast with a little icing sugar, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fruit of your choice.
