At thegreenlist.nl we love a good, organic wine from Europe. But oy, the day after we are not always so happy-de-peppy. Was it a bit too much fun after all? Well, having a drink after your thirties is different from when you were in your thirties. twenties was. Sigh. Then, of course, you can get to the noughties. For beer drinkers fine, but for wine drinkers, 0.0 wines are usually not a success. And that's putting it mildly, we now write with a sour face. Until we discovered Copenhagen Sparkling Tea. Tea, yes, tea. We thought exactly the same, but believe us: with a taste surprisingly close to a good (sparkling) wine. How so? Yes, we wondered that too, after recovering from this fantastic discovery. The conviviality and taste of wine without the hangover. Yihaa!
Sparkling Tea?
Copenhagen Sparkling Tea was conceived by award-winning sommeliers Jacob Kocemba and Bo Sten Hansen. This alternative to traditional wine is made from a cuvée of different organic teas, blended in the same way as sparkling wine. Only here, no grapes are involved. Instead, up to 13 varieties of organic tea leaves are used: from fresh flavours to fuller and more intense notes. The result? A surprising drink that is not inferior to wine in taste.
But let's face it, the word tea actually does this flamboyant drink a disservice. Not that we have anything against tea. On the contrary, at thegreenlist.nl we just love it. We love a cup or pot of tea at home on the couch, in bed with a good book or during the day next to our laptop. But at dinner or at a party, tea is not exactly our drink of first choice. That's why we're a little careful about calling it that, because this festive drink actually deserves a category all its own. Not for nothing is it served in several Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe.

A tea-based non-alcoholic wine. It may surprise you, but Copenhagen Sparkling Tea is very much like a familiar glass of sparkling wine.
The flavour of this non-alcoholic sparkling wine, ehhh... tea
Copenhagen Sparkling Tea comes in two variants: completely alcohol-free and with a small alcohol content of 5%. So we partied and toasted with the alcohol-free variants LYSERØD 0.0% and BLÅ 0.0%. If we may take a moment to tell the sommeliers: ‘LYSERØD is the driest cuvée yet with a fresh and refined taste and subtle hints of flowers and red fruit. Prefect with savoury dishes or as a festive aperitif. BLÅ, on the other hand, is fresh and lively with notes of flowers, jasmine and quince, and is excellent with starters, light main courses and desserts.’
