Eating organic often starts with fruit and vegetables. A great plan! But you can make many more organic swaps in your diet. Think about sandwich fillings, snacks, or the ingredients for your evening meal. Saskia therefore tried a number of products from BioToday and discovered that you can actually use organic products all day long, if you just take a slightly closer look in the supermarket and make more conscious choices.
Why organic food is increasingly a topic of conversation
In collaboration with BioToday
It's not surprising that organic food is increasingly becoming a topic of conversation. There is, after all, a lot of attention on the consequences of pesticides in agriculture and their negative impact on nature and biodiversity. Synthetic pesticides are prohibited in organic farming and there are stricter rules for soil and cultivation. For many people, organic is therefore a logical choice, for example because it is better for nature and the soil. The growing discussion about the possible effects of pesticides on our environment and health also plays a role.
And the great thing is: there's now more choice in the supermarket. BioToday is a good example of this. This Dutch brand has a surprisingly large range of organic products, many of which are also vegan. So, good news for the vegans in this community! From vegetable spreads and nut spreads to hummus crisps and coconut milk for your curry. In short, the kind of brand you discover once and then keep putting in your shopping basket. And conveniently, you can find BioToday in many supermarkets.
Looking for good bread toppings? BioToday's spreads are a delightful discovery!
One question we often get from readers and followers is: what are good, healthy toppings for bread if you want to eat more sustainably? Especially if you also eat vegetarian or vegan, the choice can sometimes seem a bit limited. And to be honestNot all spreads are equally healthy. That's why I was particularly curious about BioToday's vegetable spreads. I tried the tomato-basil variety, among others, and it turned out to be a direct hit for lunch. This spread has a lovely tomato flavour with a hint of bite This is made from organic chickpeas, tahini and sundried tomatoes, seasoned with basil, garlic and a little chilli. Delicious on bread, crackers or rice cakes. It's also great as a dip for drinks, for example with some baguette or crudités. The beetroot-horseradish variant also proved to be a keeper here.

Various eating and snacking moments that you can also do organically thanks to BioToday: from crisps to soft drinks.
Organic snacks?
But BioToday isn't just in my lunchbox. I also tried a few products in between. The hummus chips with chickpeas and sweet chilli were gone quickly, for example. Nice and crispy, a little spicy and just a bit different from ‘regular’ crisps. I washed them down with a ginger drink from BioToday, made from freshly pressed ginger juice. That gives a real kick and is ideal for an afternoon snack.
BioToday from breakfast to dinner
Later that day, the coconut milk from BioToday also went into the pan. With it, I made a vegetarian chickpea pasta with various organic vegetables. The coconut milk immediately gives such a dish a creamy flavour and works well as a base for curries or soups. Thus, I noticed during the bio-swap that with a few organic products you can actually use something from BioToday throughout the day. From bread toppings to snacks and from cooking to a drink in between, these are the kind of products that easily fit into your daily shopping.
