Every month - and sometimes more often (check the agenda!) - held at the iconic NDSM wharf in Amsterdam North. From Amsterdam Central Station, take the free ferry to the NDSM wharf, a trip that is an experience in itself. Within a few minutes you are in this raw, creative part of Amsterdam. From the dock, it's a maximum five-minute walk to the market. Just follow the mob, you can't miss it! This industrial part of Amsterdam is a breeding ground for creativity, with cool initiatives, street art and fine restaurants. Think tough hoisting cranes, colourful graffiti and a raucous Berlin vibe which makes the area so unique.
In and around the IJ-Hallen, you will find more than five hundred stalls to check out. In short, heaven for lovers of second-hand shopping and bargain hunters. In the summer months, you can browse outside, while in winter the stalls move inside the large sheds. Note: it can be chilly here, so dress warmly! We have collected more tips to prepare for a flea market for you here.
Our tip: Come early, with an early bird ticket you can get in as early as 6:00am and be the first to hunt for bargains. Start at the back and slowly work your way to the front to find the best treasures.

A few minutes away, by the ferry, you will find IJ-Canteen. Here you can also sit comfortably and enjoy people-watching. For another circular lunch spot The Ceuvel definitely worth the diversions. Making reservations at these hotspots is smart, especially on busy market days!
