Lunakind: washable nappies instead of disposables

Want to make a conscious choice for your baby as well as the planet? Then you'll soon end up with washable nappies. Goodbye mountains of waste and hello happy prints! But isn't that a lot of work, these washable nappies? Luckily, it's not that much - hello washing machine. Moreover, nowadays most washable nappies are easy to use. That includes the washable nappies from Lunakind, a German brand with washable nappies that not only look nice, but are almost as easy to use as a disposable nappy. Besides nappies, Lunakind has other sustainable products for babies and women. Are you pregnant or in the middle of nappies? Lunakind fits perfectly on your greener list!

Washable nappies with a mission

In collaboration with Lunakind

When founders Florian and Sarah became parents themselves, they were shocked by the huge mountain of waste created by disposable nappies. According to Milieu Centraal, this is about five thousand nappies per child! There must be another way, they thought. When they couldn't find the ideal washable nappy themselves, they set to work on their own design. They searched for sustainable materials and developed a washable nappy that met all their requirements. With Lunakind nappies, you can attach the absorbent part to the cover with press-studs, making it easy to prepare the nappy. This makes changing easier and is therefore also ideal for daycare or on the go. As Lunakind has different types of inserts, you can choose which material and model you like best and adjust the absorbency to reduce the risk of leakage.

The nappies are made of good, high-quality fabrics. For instance, the briefs are made of recycled polyester with TPU (to make them waterproof) and the inserts mainly of natural materials such as cotton, hemp and bamboo. In short, gentle on baby's bottom and your wallet, as this makes them last a very long time. Great! And they have also thought of the eye, as the designs are beautiful. See for yourself.

Lunakind: more than just washable nappies

Lunakind is a company with a mission: to reduce waste from babies and their brand-new parents and thus make the world a little nicer. They look beyond just the product and they take sustainable steps in their operations too. For example, Lunakind maintains close contact with their suppliers in Germany and China and they keep a close eye on working conditions. For this, Lunakind commissions an independent audit, a SEDEX SMETA Audit. FYI: this is an independent audit carried out by certified auditors to ensure that suppliers work ethically, sustainably and fairly.

Besides washable nappies, Lunakind has other useful products to enjoy the precious moments with your little one, such as washable changing mats, nappy bags, bibs and swim nappies. For women, they have handy suckling pads and washable pads. Everything is designed with the same goal: to replace disposables with sustainable, reusable alternatives.
