Sustainable lunch spot in Utrecht: Pain du Jardin

Yay! One of our favourite sustainable restaurants in Utrecht - Le Jardin - has a sandwich shop and we are very happy about it. Are you walking around Utrecht soon with an appetite? Then you know where to go: at Pain du Jardin on Mariaplaats, that is.

Pain du Jardin: the best of Le Jardin restaurant on a sandwich

Having lunch or dinner at Le Jardin restaurant - i.e. not the lunch shop - means being pampered. You could already read about that here. Expect a full evening of French classics starring vegetables, great wine pairing and friendly service. This is what Le Jardin calls ‘groentenomie’, or higher cooking with vegetables in the lead role. In short, truly a night out for anyone who likes to celebrate life and make special culinary discoveries. So it's not exactly a place you ‘just visit’ or ‘casually’. That threshold is quite a shame, because the food at Le Jardin is so amazing and special, you will want to enjoy it more often!

Affordable and sustainable lunch in Utrecht

And that is why we are so pleased with founder Lars Mooren's new concept: Pain du Jardin. Delicious lunch sandwiches - take-away - featuring all the good things from the restaurant. Like the restaurant's set menu, the lunch menu moves with the seasons - and what is available daily. In short, you can now taste the best of this top restaurant on a sandwich. And the price is not too bad! For less than ten euros, you can score such a special sandwich.

Where can you pick this up? Simply on the Mariaplaats right next to the restaurant. Look for a striking white and blue building on the square with a cosy French terrace and you've found it! À bientôt!
