Second-hand shopping in Utrecht: where to go?

If you visit a student city, you basically already know: it's bursting with second-hand shops here. And Utrecht? It certainly doesn't disappoint either. For those who want sustainable and affordable shopping, this is a true thrift hall. Start your search along Oudegracht in particular, because the vintage and second-hand gems are everywhere. Circle The Arm alone has four (!) branches at numbers 247, 253, 255 and 266. But Episode, Sisters and Rejoes are also here. Sounds good, right? Let's go! Here come some delicious addresses.

Roxy ’79 Vintage

This shop is run by Bart van Maanen, a top Dutch model. He wanted to make high-quality second-hand clothes more accessible to the general public and thought: I'll start a boutique and turn this into a vintage mecca. With success! At Roxy ’79 Vintage you will find a carefully curated collection with all kinds of iconic vintage garments. Do you have a big and special event coming up soon? Then you can rent on a ball gown or tailored suit here. Impress everyone, without paying blue. Oh, and the name of this shop? That was inspired by the iconic nightclub ‘RoXY’ in Amsterdam. That's why the shop is also decorated with CDs and disco balls. Truly a party!

From furniture and books to kitchenware and clothes. What is extra special: Emmaus helps homeless people by giving them shelter in their homes and work in its thrift shops. The owner of No Vintage Phobia, Anabelle, has been into vintage and second-hand all her life. We wrote about her shop before. There are new items every day and there is always coffee waiting for you too. Could you use some help (re)discovering your own style? No Vintage Phobia works closely with style coach Mirjam Hamming. With her help, you will go home with the best items for you anyway! More tips from Mirjam can be found here! We have already heard her out!
