Return, upcycle and repair at Bever in Utrecht

In collaboration with Bever

If you are familiar with the Bever shops, you know that recycling has been an important theme at Bever for some time now. You can also find these sustainable products and services in other shops, but here in Utrecht everything comes together in one place and on a larger scale than ever. That makes this shop unique, also for Bever. From the moment you step inside, you notice: the entire shop breathes sustainability. Upcycled and repaired outerwear, a vintage collection, a repair and rental service and handy items to take good care of your belongings and repair them yourself. At the checkout, for example, we spot a wide range of PFAS-free care for your shoes and a repair kit for your zip. Nice.

2the Opportunity collection from Bever even more fun from new

One of the most striking initiatives in the new Beaver shop is the ‘2nd Outside Opportunity Collection’. This collection immediately attracts attention with upcycled windcheaters, brightened up with contrasting, brightly coloured patches of fabric, vintage items and new garments with minor damage such as a missing press stud or an open seam, which are given a second chance after repair. Nice detail: each garment states exactly what was wrong with it, how it was repaired and by whom. This makes each item unique and personal.

The Beverwinkel in Utrecht on St Jacobsstraat is all about recycling. You can hand in clothes that can still be used in exchange for a voucher, buy upcycled and repaired clothes, rent, repair, wash outdoor gear and even hand in old clothes for recycling.

A word about the rental service you'll find in the Utrecht shop. Super handy! Firstly, because in a lot of attics there are outdoor gear, such as tents, sleeping bags -and mats, backpacks and hiking poles, is lying around gathering dust. Why buy everything if you only need it once or a few times a year for your adventures? Or maybe you have plans to invest in nice outdoor gear, but want to try it first before making such a big purchase. Bever's rental service is suitable for all these situations. See more about the rental service.

Beaver Buys Back

There is also the ‘Beaver Buys Back’ programme. Do you still have unused items in your home? Turn them in here and receive a voucher. Bever will refurbish and resell them so they don't go to waste. If you have nice clothes lying around that weren't bought at Bever, don't worry! The acceptance list is wide: besides Bever items, you can also hand in products from other brands, although fast fashion is deliberately excluded. Read more about the Buy Back programme From Beaver.

Finally, the Beverwinkel in Utrecht offers a washing, repair and maintenance service that goes beyond Bever products. As with all Beverw shops in the Netherlands, you can also go to Utrecht for repairs on gear you've bought elsewhere. And should something really be beyond salvage, there is a recycling programme whereby worn equipment is properly processed in their own recycling street in Pijnacker. With all these services under one roof, Bever proves that sustainability and outdoor adventure can go hand in hand. In short, Utrecht has gained a unique shopping experience! Imagine if this became the standard in every shop. That would mean so much less waste and rubbish, and so much more value for what we already have. Will you be in Utrecht soon? Then be sure to pop into this new Beverwinkel and find out for yourself!
