Moose Färg: durable wood paint.

Painting job? Check out Moose Färg!

At thegreenlist.nl we regularly get questions about painting. After all, how do you tackle such a paint job in a more sustainable way? Paint is quite heavy stuff: chemical fumes, plastic in your pot, and often more coats than you would like. Fortunately, we found an alternative that works fine and is much kinder to you and the planet: Moose Färg wood paint.

Bring a touch of Sweden into your home with Moose Färg

In cooperation with Moose Färg

Moose Färg comes, as the name somewhat gives away, from Sweden. The land of endless forests, serene lakes and, of course, those bright red wooden houses. Painting is almost a cultural thing there, so they know how to do it. Jan and Ryanne Smit - father and daughter - brought that knowledge and those products to the Netherlands after they fell in love with the matt wood paint they discovered during holidays in Sweden. They now run Moose Färg together. And sell not only wood paint but also other wood preservatives such as linseed oil, matt floor lacquer and even nano coating. All with the most sustainable approach possible.

Water-based wood paint without microplastics and plasticisers

Moose Färg's paint is water-based and contains no microplastics, plasticisers or animal ingredients. So yes: good news for vegans: it is completely vegan. The amount of volatile organic compounds - those harmful fumes you often smell when painting - is also extremely low. Moose S, one of the variants especially for exterior wood such as facades and fences, even contains zero grams per litre. That means: no smell, no toxic fumes and - truly unique - not a single hazard label needed on the packaging. So the paint is safe to use and environmentally friendly. Even after painting, you're fine. Is the pot empty? Then simply put it in the grey container. Do you still have wet paint left? Then take it to the recycling centre so that even the last remnant can be disposed of properly.

Moose Färg is a wood paint that is more environmentally friendly and you can choose from a variety of colours.

No primer needed and still well protected

Many ‘green’ paints still require a chemical primer or primer coat. Not so with Moose Färg. Most variants can be applied directly to untreated wood. The paint soaks deep into the material, does not seal it and allows the wood to breathe. As a result, it stays beautiful longer, does not flake and rarely needs repainting. Has your fence become dull after five years? Then a simple cleaning and a new coat will suffice. Sanding is not necessary.

Painting job on the schedule?

Moose Färg is known for its beautiful, matt finish and natural colour palette. Think soft shades of grey, Scandinavian blue, warm yellow and, of course, that iconic Swedish red. On the website, you can request a free colour chart or use an online colour picker. So, is there a job on your list for which you need wood paint? Then definitely check out Moose Färg. It works well, smells good, is kind to the environment and looks great too. As far as we are concerned, a green win-win.
