You want to live more sustainably, but oh that chocolate... Does this sound familiar to you too? At thegreenlist.nl we at least love chocolate, only unfortunately we also know that it is usually not so good for the planet. For example, did you know that the CO2 emissions from milk chocolate are as much as those from pork! Yes, it shocked us too. Fortunately, there are more sustainable alternatives that are at least as tasty. Hands Off My Chocolate's plant-based chocolate definitely deserves a place on our greener shopping list.
Reduce your footprint with plant-based chocolate
In collaboration with Hands Off
If you want to live more sustainably, you can make a lot of difference by changing your diet. A (predominantly) plant-based diet is not only better for the planet, but also for animal welfare. Plant-based does not mean that you only have to eat lettuce and vegetables, as there are plenty of vegan goodies available these days. Hands Off also proves this with their plant-based chocolates, biscuits and bites.

Less carbon emissions with Hands Off My Chocolate's vegan chocolate
Hands Off's chocolate proves that you really don't need cow's milk to make delicious chocolate. And in doing so, they save a lot of CO2. An average milk chocolate bar in the Netherlands causes about 6.2 kilograms of CO2 per kilogram of product. That is about as much as pork! Hands Off's plant-based milk chocolate (like Caramel Seasalt) emits 47% less! For the Choco Chip cookies the CO2 saving is even more, at 54%.
But what about the cocoa?
That Hands Off's chocolate contains no cow's milk is great, but what about the cocoa? Because there's a lot wrong in the cocoa industry too, think deforestation and slavery. They've thought about that too at Hands Off. They know exactly where their cocoa comes from and only buy cocoa that is Rainforest Alliance certified. This quality mark is committed to nature conservation as well as social requirements. Hands Off My Chocolate makes every effort to understand the chain, reduce CO2 as much as possible and preserve biodiversity. So we are not surprised that they are completely B-Corp certified.
Hands Off My Chocolate: enjoying delicious vegan chocolate without guilt
Who doesn't love a nice piece of chocolate! Luckily, Hands Off's plant-based chocolate, bites and biscuits allow us to enjoy them guilt-free. You can find Hands Off My Chocolate products in supermarkets or in their web shop. That will be tasty!
