For some time we have been at thegreenlist.nl fan of YOKUU's cleaning products. YOKUU is an innovative Belgian cleaning company founded by bioengineer Joris Jansen. He has been researching the role of microbes in our home. His conclusion is that, yes, we can get a bit dirtier and that good bacteria can help with cleaning. All those harsh disinfectants and classic chemical products are not good for us and certainly not good for the planet. Good bacteria that clean?
The good bacteria produce enzymes that break down long-lasting dirt, while also restoring the natural balance in your home. The upshot: as soon as you use a YOKUU product, those good bacteria keep on working, even when the cleaning job is long done. This is also the case with the toilet bombs that make even the dirtiest toilet smell fresh with odours within minutes. We tested it and became big fans - and we are not the only ones. Since then, there has always been a bag of toilet bombs - with resealable packaging, handy - on the edge of the toilet. But how exactly do these bombs work? We tested it ourselves!
How do YOKUU's toilet bombs work?
YOKUU toilet bombs offer an effective and more eco-friendly solution for toilet cleaning. Here's how they work:
- Soak a 15-gram tab in your toilet bowl for at least 15 minutes.
- If you leave the tabs in the pot longer, the bacteria will be better able to work against limescale and odours. So it is best to leave the tabs in overnight (12 hours).
- YOKUU toilet bombs do five things, everything you expect from a good toilet bowl cleaner! They are effective against limescale deposits, they provide a fresh scent in the toilet, they work against stubborn deposits and ensure healthy microflora by using good bacteria instead of harsh substances.
- Even when you have flushed your toilet, bacteria continue to work in the bowl. Here's the thing: YOKUU introduces an ecosystem of good bacteria that remain after cleaning. These bacteria break down organic waste, keeping your toilet cleaner for longer.
- If you notice that the toilet bowl is dirty again or odours take over again, put a new tab in the bowl. On average, we use two tabs a week. One bag (€23.95) contains 30 tabs. So one bag lasts us more than three months.
