Editorial assistant wanted.

Wanted: editorial assistant from Amsterdam area

Thegreenlist.nl is looking for an enthusiastic editorial assistant. Are you good at language, do you have a taste for images and do you live near Amsterdam (or even better: Ouderkerk aan de Amstel or Amstelveen)? Then we are looking for you! Thegreenlist.nl is the online lifestyle magazine and largest Instagram community for everyone who wants to live greener. We are growing fast, which is why from September we are looking for an editorial assistant to carry out editorial assignments on an on-call basis.

The profile of the prospective editorial assistant

Thegreenlist.nl is looking for a sociable, spontaneous and inquisitive editorial assistant who can support founder and editor-in-chief Saskia with all kinds of things. As we will also sometimes work together on location, we are looking for someone from the Amsterdam area.

This is what you will do:

  • Image editing and taking your own photos for online articles.
  • Preparing articles in WordPress. Don't worry if you can't do this yet, we'll teach you quickly!
  • (Help with) article writing.
  • Designing in Canva.
  • Subtitling videos (Dutch).
  • Assist with photo and video productions and events.
  • Web shop help.
  • And much more...

What should you have in house:

We are looking for someone who is pursuing an HBO or WO degree in Communication or Journalism, someone who has just started his or her freelance adventure or someone who enjoys and learns editorial assignments. What else? Obviously, you follow the news a bit and know a thing or two about sustainable challenges and sustainable choices. But what we find equally important: we are looking for the type of person who really loves content creation and social media. You are good at language. You can dream the kofschip and you get annoyed when you get caught with a language mistake - although you know that this happens to the best of us sometimes. You don't have to be an experienced content creator on Instagram yourself, but the platform holds no secrets for you. You're handy with the camera functions on your phone and you don't turn your hand to a catchy photo or short video. Can you edit? That would be great, but otherwise the basics are easy to learn - just download InShot and CapCut to your phone ;). Furthermore, you are good at planning and organising your work, you can work independently, but you are also not afraid to ask questions if you are at a loss for words.

What can we offer you:

  • Flexible assignments that you can do alongside your studies/job/other assignments.
  • Lots of room to work independently.
  • Various assignments you can do on your own time.
  • Cosy and informal collaboration.
  • Regular fine green goodie to try (and to make greenlist content from if it turns out to be a good tip).
