Wine can be a sustainable gift

In partnership with Wine Gardens

A wedding, birthday or other anniversary are traditionally gift moments. And gift moments in particular are often far from sustainable. You buy again sth. and in doing so, you are again hurling stuff into (disposable) society. And if you don't know what to give a birthday boy or girl, the gift is very often wine or flowers. Because you don't want to come empty-handed either. But if anything is stressful, it is wine and flowers. Previously, we wrote an article on how to enjoy wine and flowers in a nice (and sustainable) way. wine and flowers can continue to enjoy. And the conclusion with wine is that wine from the Netherlands is a pretty sustainable choice. This has to do with the limited transport kilometres on the one hand, but also with the way we make wine in the Netherlands. You can read the full story in the article.

Since we joined thegreenlist.nl know this, we make it a sport to discover Dutch wines. No need to get bored on this voyage of discovery, as every town has a different sweetie. Or at least in each province then, because an awful lot of good wine is produced in the Netherlands. You can read our tastiest discoveries here. And during that search, we came across Winegardens against, a wonderful initiative from the Netherlands. They are working with a wine grower from Groesbeek. You know, that's near Nijmegen, with that beautiful hilly landscape. So a perfect place to grow wine!

Wine gardens, a cool sustainable DIY gift.

Wine with a story at Wine Gardens

Wijntuinen lets people experience the passionate craft of the winegrower up close through a number of ‘wine experiences’. Get rid of your stress during a walk through the vineyards, stimulate the senses during a tasting or enjoy a seasonal dinner in the middle of the vineyard. A sustainable (business) gift with social impact, while you feel like a God in France. For a wine trip or delectable wine, you really don't need to leave the country anymore! Who wouldn't want that?

Sustainable enjoyment with wine gardens

For Wijntuinen, sustainable enjoyment is not just working with local (Dutch) organic winemakers. Their ideology goes further than that. For instance, they work with sustainable packaging materials; no plastic at Wijntuinen. Recycling is used wherever possible, and products from faraway places are not delivered at Wijntuinen. In case you now think it looks like a goat's wool wine barrel at Wijntuinen, you are well mistaken. Wijntuinen has style and this is reflected in the luxurious look of all its adoption packages. The enjoyment starts the moment you receive a gift from Wijntuinen. In addition, Wijntuinen supports a social initiative that helps people regain confidence and regularity through a guidance and development programme. Participants in this pathway work under supervision at the vineyard where the adopted vines are rooted. In short, with Wijntuinen you buy a special gift with a good story.
