Second-hand shops Amsterdam Rivierenbuurt list.

The nicest second-hand shops in Amsterdam's Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood

The Amsterdam Rivierenbuurt is one of those neighbourhoods where you immediately feel the village atmosphere, but in the middle of the capital. No nutella shops or crowded shopping streets here, but a rich neighbourhood life with beautiful boutiques, cosy terraces and some very nice second-hand addresses. Saskia lived there for years and knows the neighbourhood like the back of her hand: time to share her favourite second-hand shops in the Rivierenbuurt with you!

Second-hand walking route through the Amsterdam River District

The Rivierenbuurt in Amsterdam-Zuid is named after - you guessed it - rivers. Its best-known streets are Rijnstraat, Maasstraat and Scheldestraat. Here you will find a mix of neighbourhood shops, cosy cafés and nice specialty shops, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. We take you on a walking tour of this fine neighbourhood. As far as we are concerned, the Rivierenbuurt has everything for a day in the capital. Instead of leaving Amsterdam Central Station for Dam Square and Kalverstraat, do something different and choose RAI station and discover the quiet, green streets of this neighbourhood. We have mapped out a walking route for you along the best second-hand shops in the Rivierenbuurt. Where do we start? On Rijnstraat! If you come from outside Amsterdam, you can walk to this street in fifteen minutes. Or take tram 4 from RAI station and get off at the heart of our shopping tour.

BrandMission Outlet & Second-hand shop

Our first stop is immediately a very nice one: the BrandMission Outlet & Secondhand Store. You may already know BrandMission from their sustainable fashion shops in Amsterdam and Haarlem, where they sell a fine selection of clothing brands with an eye for people and the environment. On Rijnstraat, you will find their double sustainable shop concept: an outlet and second-hand shop in one. Here you can shop stock sales, sample sales and preloved clothes by sustainable labels. A perfect place to start your second-hand stroll through the Rivierenbuurt area.

Address: Rijnstraat 181, Amsterdam.

At BrandMission on Rijnstraat, they sell sample clothes from sustainable brands, second-hand clothes from sustainable brands and gifts.

Quinnie's: second-hand children's clothes with coffee

Got kids or looking for a nice gift for a little one? Then drop by BrandMission's neighbours: Quinnie's. This children's concept store combines new and second-hand children's clothes, toys and children's books with a cosy coffee shop. The curation is done so carefully that you often can't even tell what is new and what is second-hand. You will also find many second-hand examples of sustainable children's clothing brands that often have a hefty price tag new, such as Mini Rodini, KarlijnQ and Bobo Choses. Owner Danique started Quinnie's based on her experience as a young mother with cupboards full of stuff that could easily last another round. Now she brings together local supply and demand of second-hand kids' stuff. While you browse, the kids can play. And don't forget to treat yourself to something sweet: from pasteis de nata and banana bread with a cup of coffee to a super toast from The Second Youth, made with leftover bread.

Address: Rijnstraat 183, Amsterdam.

Kids, colourful, coffee: that's Quinnie's with a beautiful collection of second-hand branded children's clothes.

Thrift store Amsterdam

From perfectly curated to delicious thrift store chaos! After the spotless and perfectly curated shops of BrandMission and Quinnie's, it's time for something completely different: the delicious chaos of a real thrift store. Walk on for a few minutes to Thrift shop Amsterdam on Trompenburgstraat, one of the branches of the municipal recycling organisation scattered throughout the city. Here, items are collected, sorted and sold so that they get a second life (and you can score something special for next to nothing). You can see the shop from afar: furniture, bikes and boxes full of curiosities are often displayed outside. Inside it is creepy-crawly, that's how full it is. Take your time to browse, because you might just discover a design gem among the many bargains.

Address: Trompenburgstraat 24, Amsterdam.

Swap corner: branded and designer clothes for a second round

For the second part of our circle tour, we walk in about 10 to 15 minutes towards RAI station, to a true Amsterdam concept: The Exchange Corner. This spacious second-hand clothes shop in Amsterdam-Zuid occupies two floors and is known for its beautifully curated collection. Here you will find carefully selected branded and designer clothes for women and men, always in top condition and changing daily. Prices are around 25 to 35 per cent of the new price, allowing you to score special pieces without paying designer prices. A firm favourite among fashion lovers and sustainable shoppers. Additional tip: the online shop features only exclusive brands and designers that meet strict selection criteria. They do not hang in the shop, but they are in stock. Ask for them and you can try them on immediately.

Address: Maasstraat 146, Amsterdam.

At Allerlei: gifts with a story

From Maasstraat, it is just a few minutes' walk to Europaplein, where the new shop of At All zit. This second-hand shop - a household name in the neighbourhood since 2009 - moved from Maasstraat to Europaplein in April 2025. You'll find an ever-changing range of home accessories, books, children's toys and other fun stuff. Perfect for those looking for an original gift. Everything is selected with care, which makes the shop calm and convenient. Thanks to the ever-changing offer, there is always something new to discover. MOOI: second-hand luxury at its best

We conclude our route on Scheldt Street at BEAUTIFUL, a household name in Amsterdam for years. This is the high-end second-hand boutique where you can find designer pieces in perfect condition. Whether you dream of a Hermès scarf, a Louis Vuitton handbag or a Chanel jacket: you might just find it here. In short, a perfect place to complete your second-hand stroll in style. Even if it's just for a browse.
