Did you know that many toothpastes contain unnecessary ingredients including, therefore, microplastics? Yes, you get these or they end up in nature via the drain. And what about the tube measure to squeeze out that last bit of toothpaste, because throwing it away is a waste. That can be a thing of the past from now on, because we have discovered a very fine sustainable toothpaste that ticks all the sustainable boxes and will make your dentist happy too, because that fluoride is really important! Our experience with ReBloom Care!
Sustainable toothpaste?
In collaboration with Rebloom
When you try to live more sustainably, at some point you start questioning everything. So even that toothpaste is bound to come along at some point when you are unsuspecting on the auto-pilot stands polishing. What is actually in such a tube? Don't ask. That doesn't make you very happy. But switching to a more sustainable alternative ‘just like that’ isn't easy either, because you do want good oral care with fluoride. That's important, the dentist is right! And yet there are more and more sustainable options for your oral care. Fine! First came wooden toothpicks, then bamboo toothbrushes, followed by toothpaste tablets and now ReBloom!
Rebloom Care: sustainable toothpaste from a refill bottle!
ReBloom is oral care from the Netherlands, made in Holland so. Founder Jeanette Smiemans was fed up with the fact that she - and her children - were ingesting unnecessary substances via toothpaste. And also those microplastics contained in some toothpaste among other abrasives did not really reassure her. Since Jeanette has a background in developing products with a nice taste experience, she couldn't really find it with toothpaste tablets either. And so she decided to develop it herself with a chemist. He ensures that ReBloom's toothpaste meets all the requirements set by dentists, Jeanette looked into a fine taste experience and mouth feel. And she succeeded well in this, because at thegreenlist.nl we got to test it. There is a variant for adults and one for children aged between five and 12 years.

My experience with ReBloom toothpaste.
- Sustainable toothpaste based on natural ingredients: 99.2% natural ingredients. Why not 100%? Well, that's tricky with toothpaste because of the fluoride it also has to contain to keep your teeth healthy and strong.
- ReBloom is vegan and animal-free.
- The adult variant contains 1,450 ppm fluoride and the child variant contains 1,350 ppm fluoride which is in line with the opinion of, among others, the RIVM.
- Without microplastics.
- Nice little pump that is easy to use, never tube hate again.
- Top: you can refill it very easily with the refill packs. Despite it may not seem like it, you save a lot of waste with bulk packs.
- The content of one bottle is equivalent to two tubes. One refill bag is equivalent to four tubes.
- You can buy the toothpaste and refill packs separately, or you can take out a membership which is more economical. With a membership on ReBloom, you get toothpaste sent home every 16 weeks and pay an average of 3.79 euros per month. If you prefer to buy it separately, you will spend around 4 per month.
- Developed in the Netherlands!
