Making your own flatbread
Kitchenware
- big bowl
- frying pan
- optional: rolling pin
Ingredients
- 300 gr flower
- ½ sachet of baking powder half teaspoon
- 150 ml semi-skimmed yoghurt vegan alternative: soy yoghurt
- 1 fluorescent salt
- 1 el olive oil
- 2 el cold water
- optional cumin
- optional garlic
- optional extra oil or butter
Instructions
- Put the flour, baking powder, yoghurt, salt, oil and water in a large bowl and knead into dough. Does it remain sticky? Then add a little flour just until it kneads nicely.
- Continue rolling out the dough on the clean countertop, dusting the dough and the countertop with some flour if necessary. Keep kneading until it is reasonably smooth. Divide the dough into about eight pieces, each part becoming a bun.
- Roll out each piece of dough into a sandwich. You can do this with a rolling pin or your hands. In this step, add some extra cumin as a flavouring. Roll the cumin seeds into the dough.
- Heat a frying pan on high heat with oil or butter and fry the bun for about 2 minutes on each side, until you get nice golden brown buns.
- Optional: put some pressed garlic in the oil and rub the buns with it while frying.
- Serve the sandwiches with the dish of your choice. Enjoy!
