Kitchenware

  • wok
  • teaspoon
  • tablespoon

Ingredients

  • 1 vegetable optionally (Choose your favourite stir-fry vegetable for this recipe. We used a broccoli we had left over).
  • 3 toes garlic
  • 1 thumb ginger
  • 1 el light soy sauce (light soy)
  • 1 el (vegan) oyster sauce (The vegan version is also called 'mushroom stir fry sauce').
  • 0,5 el dark soy sauce (dark soy)
  • 1 fluorescent sesame oil optional
  • 1 el sugar optional (Use cane, caster or palm sugar or white sugar.)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
  • Use as much garlic as ginger, in this case three cloves of garlic and one 'inch' of ginger. It is not spicy, but if in doubt for your children, you can do a little less.
  • Mix the soy sauce and oyster sauce for the stir-fry sauce and add optional sugar.

Wokken

  • In a wok or frying pan, bring vegetable oil to high temperature (high heat).
  • Add the garlic and ginger and keep stirring for about 30 sec.
  • Add the vegetables and fry them nicely golden brown in the hot pan.
  • Add the stir-fry sauce, it cooks immediately in the hot pan.
  • Let everything in the pan boil for a while and turn off the heat.
  • Add optional sesame oil and serve.
