India is one of the largest wheat producers in the world. As such, there are many different ways to make Indian bread. Amit and Daniƫlle offer some options from an Indian family archive in their cookbook Plant-based Indian cuisine such as chapati, paratha, naan, missi roti and kulchas. This Indian vegan recipe: chapati (Indian flatbread) goes well with this green beans and potato curry.
Vegetable Indian cuisine: flatbread
Indian cuisine is one of my favourites anyway, which is why I was very happy to get the vegan cookbook from Hey Groentje. I have already made a lot from Amit and Daniƫlle's cookbook. They want to use their blog and cooking workshops show that you can very easily enjoy homemade plant-based Indian food. According to them, Indian cuisine is best suited for a healthy and tasty plant-based diet. Their book contains traditional recipes, the ingredients of which are easily available. So too of this side dish: chapati (flatbread).
Chapati as a side dish
Chapati, also known as the Indian roti, is very easy to make. The flatbread, made from wholemeal flour, is eaten as a side dish almost daily in a typical North Indian household, combined with all kinds of (especially dry) vegetable curries and lentil dishes.

Notes
Making your own Indian bread
The chapati (Indian flatbread) is in the cookbook: Plant-based Indian cuisine From Hey Groentje. This book contains the most made plant-based recipes from Amit's family archive. Soon after he met Danielle, he introduced her to the amazing flavours of Indian cuisine. This inspired her to visit his family in India and learn the tricks of the kitchen from Amit's mother and grandmother. Every recipe in Amit and Daniƫlle's cookbook invites you to get started right away. Want to know more? Follow @heygreen On Instagram!
