LAZE: outdoor textiles with a mission

When Valerie Barth and Ilse Franckaert, the founders of LAZE, couldn't find an outdoor textile that was both stylish and sustainable, they decided to develop it themselves. It didn't exist or it was uninspiring, they thought. Their vision is that spending time outdoors should be relaxed and carefree, without garden equipment and accessories that have to be dragged back and forth because they can't stand the rain or a gust of wind. With Dutch summers, you would stay busy...
Your garden or balcony as an extension of your living room
For LAZE, durability means ease of use first and foremost, because then the items last longer and you want to enjoy them to the maximum. Thus, the products are water, UV and stain resistant, which makes them suitable for outdoor use. They dry quickly after a rain shower and stay looking good even after long exposure to sunlight. All LAZE products are easy to clean with soap and water. Even a red wine stain, a reminder of a beautiful evening, comes off easily, the ladies promise. And all the table linen can even just go in the washing machine. We like!
Sustainability in every detail of your garden
Ease of use, check. But what about materials and manufacturing? Valerie: ‘Each product is made from recycled plastic yarns which helps to reduce plastic pollution. The production of these materials takes place in Europe, which supports local economies and reduces transport miles and therefore the carbon footprint. Then each item is handmade in Amsterdam, close by and not mass-produced so.’
Natural inspiration
LAZE's latest collection is inspired by nature. The Sunset line captures the warm colours of a sunset, while the Nightfall line combines the depths of night with the splendour of day. With seven colours and five designs, this collection offers many ways to personalise your outdoor space. Mix and match the cushions, tablecloths, runners and placemats to create a look that suits your style.
