It is always at the top of children's wish lists in cow letters: a nice big chocolate letter from St Nicholas. Yes! He is back in the country, so we can get back to the sustainable chocolate letters. Plant-based is sustainable and you can very well make a big vegan chocolate letter yourself, so get to work! There is more and more choice of vegan sweets in supermarkets. Decorate your letter as festive and vegan as you like. Will you also make a big chocolate letter this year?
A chocolate letter without cow's milk
Finding a vegan chocolate letter in the supermarket is a bit harder than making it yourself. So I got to work with vegan chocolate and plant-based buttercream. By using a piping bag, you get dainty tufts and with some candy as decoration, you make a very pretty letter of your own. Little work with a great result. I used the dark and milk chocolate from Hands off my chocolate and Jumbo white vegan chocolate.

All vegan sweets for the letter: vegan chocolate from Hands Off, white chocolate from Jumbo and pig's heads from Katja.
Vegan sweets for chocolate letters
Why are a lot of sweets in the supermarket not vegan? This is because gelatine is used for many sweets. This is a protein product. The collagen used to prepare it is a protein found in the skin, bones and cartilage of mammals. Fortunately, there are now quite a few alternatives to vegan sweets on the market. I used the vegan dog heads And marshmallows from Jumbo.

Step two is to melt the vegan chocolate and use a cone to make and decorate a letter.
